Meet the Veterinarians & Team of DeZavala-Shavano Veterinary Clinic in San Antonio. We’re pleased to provide exceptional vet care for your pets. Please call us at (210) 699-3939 to speak to one of our caring veterinary staff members.

Dr. David Harrison

Owner/Veterinarian Raised in Abilene, Texas, Dr. David Harrison attended Texas A&M University where he earned his degree in Biomedical Science in 1992 then continued on to receive his degree in Veterinary Medicine in May 1995. Upon graduation, he began work as an associate veterinarian in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Harrison began as staff veterinarian at DeZavala-Shavano Veterinary Clinic in March 1996, then purchased the clinic in December 1996. In November 2011, the clinic moved from its office on DeZavala Rd into our newly constructed current location on Lockhill Selma Rd.

Dr. Harrison specializes in small animal medicine with an emphasis on dental care and preventative medicine.

Along with his wife and sons, Dr. Harrison owns a Dachsund and DSH cat.

Dr. Daniel Nanez

Veterinarian Dr. Daniel Nanez is no stranger to DeZavala-Shavano Veterinary Clinic. He started as an Animal Caretaker in 2003, moved to Veterinary Nurse in 2004 where is worked until he left for veterinary school in 2010.

Dr. Nanez earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in May 2014. He completed his fourth year residency at Oklahoma State University.

We are pleased to welcome him on board at the clinic!

Dr. Melanie Wilcox-Faulkner

Veterinarian Dr. Melanie Wilcox-Faulkner joined our staff as Associate Veterinarian in June 2000. She received her veterinary training and degree from Texas A&M University in May 1999.

Dr. Wilcox-Faulkner specializes in small animal medicine with an emphasis on general surgery and internal medicine.

Dr. Wilcox-Faulkner has a friendly personality and gives professional attention to each client.

Dr. Wilcox-Faulkner’s enthusiasm for animals is evident in the many well-cared-for pets she owns.
